Get ready to kick ALL your old methods of makeup application to the curb! Old makeup sponges and foundation brushes will no longer have any use to you. I never thought I would be saying this, but after trying Beautyblender’s makeup sponge applicator I literally tossed my old cheap sponges that truly did nothing for me besides make my makeup application 5x harder.
I am a creature of habit; I have been using awful make up sponges for years now (even though at the time I had no clue there was anything better out there). So to truly find something that made me throw my old method in the trash is beyond exciting, and this new beauty product has saved me so much time when applying foundation!
How did I discover the Beautyblender sponge you ask? Well, how have you not? I have seen this makeup sponge everywhere, and also have heard so many great things from friends and co-workers. The press that this little sponge has received is incredible, and the numerous movie stars and makeup artists that use it just goes to prove how fabulous this sponge really is.
Invented by top Hollywood makeup artist Rea Ann Silva, this makeup sponge was created to leave you with a flawless finish. The same you would obtain from a fancy makeup artist but without the expensive price tag. One problem I had with my old sponges was seeing streaks my foundation left behind, once I was in my car say headed for work in bright light I would look in the mirror and would be shocked when I saw globs of foundation that desperately needed to be blended in. Beautyblender was created without edges in order to eliminate visible lines and streaks.
Application is so easy; the brand recommends that you ‘bounce’ Beautyblender against your face when applying (also known as ‘stippling’), which will help to blend the makeup. The pointed side is great for hard-to-reach spots like around the eyes, nose and mouth. The round base can be used on the larger areas of your face. You can also use the Beautyblender damp when applying wet/dry makeup.
I also would recommend Beautyblender’s cleanser that is great to cleanse the sponge, and also can be used to clean any of your makeup brushes. The brand recommends that you do not use your Beautyblender repeatedly without first cleansing it. In order to keep your skin fresh and healthy, that only makes sense.
One last tidbit I would like to share about this awesome brand is they also have a recycle program. You can recycle your Beautyblender with ‘blendersender’; once your Beautyblender is ready to be discarded you can send to the following address:
Rea.deeming Beauty, Inc./beautyblender
3864 Courtney Street, Suite 280
Bethlehem, PA 18017
I know all will appreciate this great program that will help in environmental conservation.
Feel free to share your thoughts on Beautyblender, and for those who decide to give it a try let me know how it goes. I hope all will fall in love with it the same way I did!
