I created Caudalie in 1995 with my husband Bertrand because I believe it is possible to formulate highly effective beauty products with natural ingredients and luxurious textures and scents. It is those vines on my family’s property in Bordeaux that inspire me each day. For more than 15 years, we have researched with Dr. Vercauteren from the University of Pharmacy of Bordeaux, a world-renowned specialist of the ingredients derived from the vine. We found effective molecules to keep us looking younger longer and patented 3 molecules that are instrumental in repairing and preventing aging, fighting free-radicals and eliminating dark spots. We’re proud that while we develop these amazing formulas and produce the products loved all over the world we’re are earth and animal-friendly! A Closer look at our patents

Caudalie skin care treatments incomparably protect, repair and revitalize the skin with formulas that contain a maximum of natural active ingredients and patented molecules of the vine, ensuring gentle care and optimum benfits.

At the core are three innovate and exclusive patents:

• 1995: Caudalie established an exclusive worldwide patent for extracting and stabilizing Grape-seed Polyphenols (OPC). These polyphenols are the most powerful antioxidants occurring in the vegetable world and the best anti-aging shield for skin by halting free radical damage.
• 2000: Grapevine Resveratrol® was patented from grapevine stalks, offering a powerful antidote against ageing, aiding cell renewal and restoring skin’s youthfulness and firmness.
• 2005: Caudalíe researchers identified and patented Viniferine®, a molecule found in grapevine sap that brightens, lightens and evens; 62 times more effective than Vitamin C.

Caudalie Cosm-ethics

I am personally involved in getting the maximum amount of natural ingredients into my formulas, ingredients that respect the environment and that are biodegradable. I do not test my formulas on animals and I ask my suppliers to do the same. These strict “Cosm-ethics” mean that my products do not contain animal ingredients, parabens, phenoxyethanol, phthalates, mineral oils, synthetic colorings, or sodium laureth sulfate. Each week, I test dozens of textures, selecting the best ingredients, what is best for the skin.
