Happy Valentine’s Day! Whether you’re single or attached, I hope you’re doing something exciting this evening—and even if that “something exciting” is staying in and cooking a romantic dinner for two, why not do your best to look and feel super sexy? Here’s my quick guide to proper primping, complete with info on rocking sexy hair and bright pink lipstick à la Teresa Palmer at the LA premiere of I Am Number Four (pictured at right.)

Vamp up your hair

Many of you who work 9-5 jobs will be on a tight timeframe to get ready after work. One of the quickest and most foolproof ways to get sexy hair in a hurry? Hot rollers. Roll your hair up in one-inch sections, and don’t stress if your rolling is a little sloppy—what you’re going for here is volume and body. Once the hot rollers are cooled, take them out and finger-style your hair. Go easy on the hairspray—think wild, touchable bedhead.

Paint on a sexy pout

Right now, I’m absolutely loving bright pink lipstick paired with minimal face and eye makeup. The look is a little less expected than the classic red lip, but packs the same dramatic punch. And it’s flattering on most every complexion—even the super pale, like mine. The best part? It’s easy to pull off on a time crunch. Keep everything besides the lip simple—no dramatic shadow and no eyeliner on your lower lids, just a clean, bright, fresh face. Line your lips with a neutral liner, then paint on the lipstick using a lip brush for precision. (This is especially crucial when it comes to bright pink lipstick—you want to really define the lines of your mouth!) Blot with a tissue and reapply. For added drama, apply a tiny bit of highlighter in the center of your lower lip. It’s an old makeup artists’ trick for making the lips appear more voluptuous.
