I love New York city and had plans to travel there for my birthday two years ago. I ended up being laid off right around the time my boyfriend and I were going to buy tickets. I couldn’t afford the trip. I was beyond sad. For my boyfriend had a cake made for me of the New York skyline..then he super surprised me with two tickets to NYC for the weekend. Super super sweet and wonderful moment in my life :)

I made lunch for my boyfriend and I the other day, and afterward he said, “No, no.. sit down. Thanks for lunch. I’ll do the dishes.” If you only knew how much I hate dishes!! THAT was the sweetest thing ever.

One of the sweetest things that someone has done for me is bring me a coffee on my break because they overhead me say how I didn’t get a chance to get one that morning. To me it’s the little things like that and the attention to detail that are the sweetest to me.

I had what I thought was the flu hours after kid and husband went camping. I texted them and they came right home. The doctor called me to tell me to get to the hospital becuase she thought I was having kidney failure.
Long story short, I was in the hospital for 5 days. Same hospital my Dad passed away in. My husband took ever day off of work to be with me. He got there early in the morning and was with me till they closed.
He took care of me while I was in there. He sponged bathed me, clipped my nails (even the toes), walked me around for recovery. Anything that I needed he was there.
He knows how much I love chocolate, one day he brought me a candy bar without the nurses finding out.

Actually it is my sister that I think should get the prize because she is the one who is so thoughtful.
I have had a lot of treatments on my face for about a year and one time it looked really bad and I could not tell you where she found it but it was a huge smiley face, the type that was popular about 20 years ago and she told me to tape it to my mirror and this thing had to be about 14 inches in diameter.
So I did hang it on my mirror and everytime I put on medication or washed my face,I had to laugh. It might be a stupid small thing to some people but I thought of her and it brought a smile to my face everyday.

The sweetest thing ever is my daughter. She tells us she will always live with us and take care of us when she grows up. She always offers her own money to us when she thinks we are short of cash and she cares and prays for the kids in Haiti that have been Orphaned. She has the largest heart ever

Ah, the sweetest thing…after I chose to separate/divorce, my son (our son) gave me a handwritten letter that was so encouraging, so full of everything I wanted/needed to hear from him. It was a highly unusual gesture on his part, and he was only 19 or so, at the time. I have the letter in a safe place, but I made a photocopy of it that I keep in my Filofax. It makes me cry, anytime I read it :

My fiancee is the most thoughtful and sweet guy there is. I had to go to NY for my Dad’s unexpexted open heart surgery, which was very upsetting and stressful. I had very little time to pack, and my wonderful man went shopping , since it was 22 degrees at the time and I live in Florida, and bought me a scarf, gloves, ugg boots , victorias secret sweats , lip balm, and cozy pjs for the trip. He said he wanted me to be warm and comfortable while going back and forth to the hospital. I am very lucky to have a guy that is so thoughtful, all the time

One year at Thanksgiving, I went to NYC with some girlfriends. My birthday was the day after Thanksgiving, so my husband suprprised me by showing up at our hotel room – the whole group of us went to the Marriott Marquis for champagne and strawberries at the revolving restaurant. It was a fabulous night that I will always remember!

It’s double festival day with DOUBLE LOVE, that we’ve to treasure our beloved and spend the memorable moment together. I’ll go to Lake Tahoe with my hubby that weekend, where the place was we get married, we’ll go up to the mountain and snowboarding together in the day time, and candle dinner to celebrate with this special day, and wish all couples are having the wonderful day, happy and healthy always. May god bless all of us, that we can share our ups and downs with our loved one always.

One time for Christmas, a friend dropped by unannounced to give me a mini present. It wasn’t expensive or anything I specifically asked for but it was one of the best surprises I’ve ever received. My family don’t really celebrate Christmas so they rarely give me presents (and definitely never unannounced, I usually have to hint pretty hard), and since I was a poor student, I wasn’t in the habit of exchanging presents with my friends either. The fact that she dropped by to give a little something to me made me super happy. :3

I was on an extra long business trip that spanned over two and a half weeks, and ended on the day of my birthday. I made sure to be home, as I wanted to spend my birthday with my boyfriend.

I used a car service to come to my apartment, and I walked into my apartment and my boyfriend had transformed it into a romantic birthday scavenger hunt. There were flowers, candles and notes everywhere. I had to find the next note/clue to find gifts. The gifts were some of my favorite little things, like chocolates, lotions, champagne, etc.

It was so nice, so sweet and a great way to spend a birthday.

The sweetest thing that has ever been done to me was my parents knew how much I loved photography and loved to travel. So one Christmas we were all opening presents and when we finished my parents said, “wait! We have one more present for everyone.” Then they came out with a travel packet for a 2 week safari in Africa. To this day it has been the best present I have ever received. The photos from this trip were the best and just inspired me to keep up with photography.

After a long night of drinking and dancing, my husband (then boyfriend) drew a bath for me to soak my aching toes. I ended up falling asleep on his chest, his hands forming a bridge as my pillow. He let me sleep until I woke up on my own and didn’t move at all because he didn’t want to wake me. So sweet! That’s when I knew.

One of the sweetest things I’ve had done for me was about 10 years ago. The college where I was working and attending school was in the process of building a new hall, and there were heavy construction vehicles everywhere. One night after work, I got in my car to go home when I realized my back windshield was shattered. I figured rocks had been launched at my car by one of the big trucks on campus. I was very upset, and didn’t know how I would pay for a replacement. My co-workers at Campus Police collected money from everyone and paid for a replacement. This happened about a week before Christmas and I was totally surprised one day when I went to work and was informed of the “Christmas present” everyone had pitched in for. I think I cried for 3 days because I was so touched by my co-wokers’ generousity.

I have a picture of my daughters when they were 4 and 9months, it is my favorite picture of them ever. It captures their indvidual personalities while they are wearing identical pink Gap sweatshirts. For my 30th birthday, my husband had someone replicate the picture in a watercolor painting. I was so stunned to see this when I opened the package, because he knew that I always admired a similar picture done of my cousin about 30 years ago. It was the most thoughtful thing anyone has done for me and I display the painting proudly in my home!

I had broken my ankle and was unable to put any pressure on it. I had crutches but they were too big and kind of unwieldy so my boyfriend helped me get around everywhere which was so sweet. He also knew how badly I missed being able to take a bath – you couldn’t soak the cast, so he rigged up a bar across the tub so that I could rest the cast on that. Then, he ran a hot scented bubble bath for me. I felt so loved and cared for and the bath was exactly what I needed. So so soothing.

My DH defended me against a hurtful and unwarranted verbal “attack” from a loved one. It was so heartfelt, sincere and kind, I had tears of joy. It made me forget the crummy things that were said and I’ve never forgotten it, meant the world to me.
I did get an apology from meany loved one later, so all was smoothed over.

My father isn’t the most affectionate person by a long shot. I’ve learned not to expect much effort on his part when it comes to displaying his love and care. Imagine my surprise, then, when he gifted my mother and I cruise tickets last October upon he release from the hospital for surgery. My father would give my mother the standard card and flowers on holidays, but I would have never imagined he would have been thoughtful enough to do something so out of the norm. I think the unexpected nature of his gesture did more to help my mother recover than anything else! Of course, we had a great time seeing the Caribbean as well!

This past Christmas, my best friend and I decided not to exchange presents due to our dire financial state. Instead, he wrote me the sweetest letter expressing how much he cared about me and how I have changed his life for the better. He told me he never knew anyone could bring such happiness into his life.

No gift, regardless how expensive, will ever have the same meaning to me as those words did. No that gift truly encompassed the true spirit and meaning of Christmas.

The sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me was when I was recovering from major surgery and was extremely depressed, not feeling like eating, losing weight and strength every day. Out of concern, my friend made my favorite homemade chicken soup and brought it to my home. Since my hands were shaking from all the medication I was taking, making it impossible for me to hold a spoon steady, she sat in my room with me for a long time slowly feeding me the soup, like I was an infant. NoOne has ever done such a thoughtful thing for me because it showed just how much she cared about me.

I don’t know if this would qualify as the sweetest thing anyone has done for me because I would classify it more as who has done so much for me and always been there whenever I needed her, dropping everything else in her life to be with me, taking care of my every need without ever complaining or feeling that she was owed something for her efforts (placing her more in a saintly category) And that person is my mother. She does the seetest things for me every day of my life and I am blessed to have her in my life.

Nothing will ever be more precious to me ever in my life.
