My favorite “fountain of youth” food is most definitely dark chocolate with goji berries. I just read Christie Brinkley who is my ultimate ageless role model eats Gnosis chocolate, which I love. The superchoc bar they make has algae, greens, ginkgo, and the goji/acai antioxidant/anti-aging combo. I first tried it at our local beachfront cafe and bliss out on it at the beach often. To longevity!

Blueberries are known to have one of the highest levels of anti-oxidants. Blueberries have anti-inflammation and anti-bacterial quality. The pigment that makes blueberry so dark is called anthocyanin which is what makes this berry one of the most effective anti-age products. Anthocyanin is a plant pigment and a powerful anti-oxidant, which neutralizes free radical effect. Blueberries contain carotene, vitamin A, flavonoids, vitamins B and C and 6 invaluable fatty acids. Some of these acids have very high anti-cancer quality. BLUEBERRIES ARE AMAZING!

Only ONE favorite? Definately no secret, but my MOST favorite has been blueberries for years. I put them on my whole grain cereal with non-fat yogert. I use them in salads, smoothies, eat them as snacks, and bake them in muffins, quick breads, pies, any way I can. But I have an added favorite, now more available in my rural area. Dark chocolate! I’m addicted, but was converted to the dark almost overnight. Not only healthier, but chocolate helps me drink more water! Considering a non-invasive lifting procedure, I recently saw a dermatologist’s physician’s assistant (plastics) for consultation. Having had no plastic surgery at 75, my skin is saggy with some wrinkles, but they were astounded at it’s youthful texture, brightness and overall quality. Their message: “Keep doing whatever you’re doing”. Bring on the blueberries and dark chocolate!
