I unwind AFTER the Holidays are all over only after I put everything away….my feet go up on the coffee table on a pillow, the throw is on my body, a glass of water and the remote in hand! (I usually fall asleep before I even drink the water…) but that’s the only thing I have time to do even when there’s No Holiday.

I work a full time job and take care of three kids,4 cats and a husband so holiday shopping and hosting can be very draining. My favorite way to unwind is by doing something to pamper myself.I will take a nice warm bath with some scented oils or bubble bath while wearing a moisturizing face mask. After the bath I wash off the face mask and I apply moisturizer on my face then I ask ask my hubby to rub my feet with lotion and I’ll usually fall asleep right away. I return the favor when he needs it too.

My favorite way to unwind during the stressful Holiday season is to turn my bedroom into a spa sanctuary. I will light candles that are scented with lavender or have a calm theme on my nightstand and in my bathroom. I have a mister that I keep in my nightstand that I fill with water and a few drops of lavender essential oil. Then when I go in my bathroom to wash my face my bathroom is inviting and I’m more likely to follow through with washing my face at night. Then my real “me” time is reading all comfy and cozy in bed with my cat at my feet and my husband snoring next to me.

I keep a list of things to do so I don’t get too wound up. I drive everywhere listening to Christmas music in the car and at home, I watch Joyce Meyer faith message on TV and I exercise each day to experience and stay focused on enjoying lifes blessings. I don’t really unwind from everything until Christmas Morning. After an early morning rise celebration with family, I go back to bed to lay down for an hour and I pray alone to God for giving me and all of us who seek him this wonderful opportunity to enjoy and celebrate this special day. This Day brings such Glory and Joy to the Lord when it has true meaning. Jesus really is our greatest gift. His Love is our Salvation! God is beautiful! Taking care of ourselves is our gift to God! Thank you and Merry Christmas to all who enjoy his beauty all around us!

During the stressful holiday season I practice yoga because it really helps me relax and clear my mind. I also read a lot to get my mind off of reality and jump into a world of my imagination. =)

I love sitting in the dark with just the Christmas tree lights softly blinking. It makes me feel peaceful. It reminds me of what the holidays are bout. There about loving, giving, family and friends. Each year I thank God for another year He has giving me with those I love.
