This would be fabulous to win! What I change about my skin care during the fall is extra moisturizer. My skin takes a pretty big hit when the air starts cooling off and the extra moisturizer is a live saver!

I don’t change skin care routine since my skin is very oily at all the time in general. I tend to use deep cleanser and moisture for oily skin.

For fall I sub in a think night moisturizing cream for my regular moisturizer I use in the summer. I also use a more moisturizing face wash. Because my skin gets so beat up during the summer, I exfoliate once a week in the fall as well as use microdermabrasion. I also do more face masks and lip masks in the fall to help repair and moisturize my skin.

I live in a very dry climate, and when the heat comes on, my skin dries up. I use a heavier night moisturizer and always use a serum on my skin first. I need to keep fine lines and peeling skin at bay.

I never drastically change my skin care routine from season to season because changing new products at once tends to irritate my skin. However, as fall is approaching I changed my face cleanser to a more gentle formula that leaves my skin moisturized rather than too dry.

I continue with SPF but I do start using a heavier moisturizer–once the weather turns colder. This not only protects me from the drying effects of the cold but from the worse effects from people overheating their homes and offices. Ugh.

I also switch to darker color blushes and lip colors, as well, to reflect nature’s autumnal palette :)

I love love looooove that you’re featuring Leaf & Rusher! I’ve been a fan of their Green Tea Face wash for a while! <3 xo

For Fall I completely switch my regime to one that brightens. My skin gets oily very easily so I usually use the same light weight moisturizing in the day time but opt for a heavier night cream to make up for the harsher climate. Also instead of a heavier SPF 55, I usually grab an SPF 30 base to apply.

My activity level goes down, leaving me more time to pay attention to what my skin tries to tell me. It generally requests: more moisturizing; get rid of those extra freckles from the summer sun; take the vitamins you promised you’d take to keep me healthy; do more masks and peels to shed summers dead skin.

What I change about my routine for fall superficially would be my color scheme.I need more color to me in the colder months. In regard to my skin care I tend to exfoliate more, I do need to double up my serum with a moisturizer under my make-up, I need to use lip balm more often, and I don’t use as high of an spf on a daily basis. Btw, Leaf and Rusher is my favorite brand so I look forward to hearing from you if possible :D Thanks.

I use the Leaf and Rusher Active Serum for Sensitive Skin, Green Tea Wash and TX Formula every morning and in the evening I use the Active Serum for Sensitive Skin and TX Night Formula DNA Resolve, once or twice a week I also use the Rapid Resurface. I have found by following this beauty ritual throughout the year, and I live in a very dry climate, my skin stays moisturized and happy no matter what the season. Leaf and Rusher is a product I won’t live without!

I drink a lot of water in general, but when the weather begins to change, my body requires more to keep my skin hydrated and quenched. Living in Chicago, my skin becomes drier, so I opt for a deep moisturizing serum and night antioxidant lotion to replenish my skin while I sleep so that my skin feels rejuvenated when I wake up in the morning. I also make sure I routinely get more facials to keep that firmer glow in the dry winter months.

I haven’t really figured out how my skin change over the different seasons to be honest, but I imagine I would need a slightly heavier moisturizer as the temperature gets cooler and the air dryer. I am normally oily though, so I can’t imagine wearing moisturizer in the morning still. Also maybe a bit more exfoliation and more pampering masks to get rid of any flakies that might occur, and to rehydrate my skin afterwards.

I change my face routine. In winter I just use a moisturizer/sunscreen on my face. Sunscreen everywhere else, too! In summer, I wear a primer on my face to keep my face matte, to keep oil at bay. In winter, my face gets irritated by the dryness so I use a mask whenever I feel it get itchy.

  50. Michelle

It is always important to drink lots of filtered water in the winter. I use a hydrating mist on your face during the day. I also continue to use moisturizers with suncreen by day, something richer by night, and the green tea wash is a great gentle way to cleanse.

I don’t change too much in the way of product usage. I find myself applying body lotion more to combat that itchy tight dryness I get when sitting in a heated area for too long though. And probably add more moiturizer to my face and neck throughout the day.

I switch moisturizers for evening, but still use my high SPF, as I live in the desert southwest and even thought it’s not as hot, the sun is still there, I’m not fooled. ;)
I do just as much exfoliating as always, just richer night cream. Also can’t forget to hydrate from the inside; that gets forgotten sometimes in the winter, as it’s not 110 degrees anymore; lol.
Also, I go a little richer with my foundation formula in a lighter shade.

  59. Posted September 29, 2010 at 9:08 am | Permalink

In the fall I finally get to relax and worry about dryness for once, since I usually have oily skin which is a problem in the summer. I focus on skin-tone and make sure I exfoliate, go crazy with vitamin E and uber-hydrate from my toes to my lips. Acne wise Retin A gets a rest until spring or I’ll end up pouring on makeup just to cover the redness. All my body soaps become extra creamy and I pack on sun protection before I jump into the autumn leaves. And of course makeup tones and shades chance greatly but again I focus on using products that won’t help the climate excessively dry my skin.

I believe that there is no such thing as a “one size fits all or one product does all” approach to skincare–even when dealing with just one’s own skin needs. It is important to pay attention not only to the type of skin you have, but also your lifestyle and season and they how each influences your skin. The objective is to ALWAYS have beautiful skin. Catering your skincare routine and the products you use is paramount to optimizing the health and beauty of your skin. My Fall/Winter routine:
    1) Switch to a cream or oil cleanser–no need to have anything stronger when skin is not as oily as it is in warmer months.
    2) Wash face with warm water only at night.
    3) Mornings-wash with Cetaphil and cold water only.
    4) Toner-I use a mild one (not sal. acid or glycolic).
    5) Heavy night cream. Heavy Eye Cream (day/night). Medium skin cream for day/morning.
    6) Use a prescription retinoid product–every other night. I feel that I get maximun benefit in the winter as the days are not as sunny and there is less chance for irritation (summers I use OTC retinols products; I never use a physical exfoliant in the fall/winter.)

I am not an industry person, this is my actual routine. I am 40 years old and always mistaken for someone 15 years younger. I have been fanatic about my skin since my teens!

I love fall and the anticipation of the coming holidays and New year. I must admit as soon as they start selling cinnamon brooms at the local grocery store and the gourds are displayed in the produce department I am in full fall swing. I change my bath treats from fruity to spicy, I incorporate tons more earth tones into my makeup routine and wardrobe, and I ALWAYS use a brightener on my skin. With a break from the scorching summer sun it’s an excellent time to use treatments and other products that require sun protection. It’s the perfect time for a peel or an acne regiment. And of course I love the Duwop spicy lip plumper for spicy fall kisses! I love fall!

LIVING IN SAVANNAH, GA, I DON’T REALLY CHANGE MY SKIN CARE REGIMENT. HOWEVER IF I’M OUT WEST SKIING OR WITH FAMILY IN CHICAGO, I MOISTURIZE MORE AND UP THE SUNSCREEN

I DON’T CHANGE MY SKINCARE REGIMENT OFTEN. I LIVE IN COASTAL GEORGIA AND OUR WEATHER IS MILD TO VERY HOT AND HUMID. I AM CAREFUL DURING SUMMER TO CLEANSE MY FACE MORE AND I ONLY USE DEEP MOISTURIZING AT NIGHT WHEN I NEED IT.

I need to use a heavier moisturizer as the season changes and the weather gets drier. One bonus with the drier weather is less break-outs! Thanks, Dermstore, for offering such a wide variety of products for my ever-changing skin needs!

During the fall I can finally wear a full face of make up again! I retire my tinted moisturizers and apply thicker concealers and use foundation all over my face. I use a ton more lip balms and I’m not afraid of my smokey eye melting down my cheeks. At night I do not tone and use a richer eye cream. I try to add in one moisturizing facial mask a week [during the warm months I only do one kaolin mask a week to suck up my extra oils].

I notice that my eyes get more sensitive; so I make sure to use very gentle and natural products around that area several times through the day. Also, my lips of course get drier, so I use Sara Harp vanilla lip scrub (scrumptious) and then a balm. I keep my cleansing and moisturizing routine pretty much the same – I’ve tried many methods, but the simplest one I use now is to use natural products: a cleanser, an exfoliant every other day or so, a clay mask once a week, serum, and moisturizer combined with SPF tinted moisturizer. Re makeup, I’ve noticed I’ve been using more since autumn has arrived…bronzer, more eye liner, some shadow – along with the usual mascara and lip stick or gloss. Voila!

In the fall, I steam my face each night with a muslin cotton cleansing cloth after washing my face. I then apply a few drops of jojoba oil and olive oil on my face before applying a heavy cream moisturizer.

Summers are always damaging to my skin no matter how much I take care. So fall is when all my treatments and hydration masks come out to reverse the damage done by the summer weather. Then by winters I have beautiful glowing skin again!

I like to use a heavy cream moisturizer in the fall and try and reverse any damage done to my skin in the summer months. I always make sure to mosturize my lips as they get very chapped when the weather changes. I also exfoliate more often then i do in the summer. I notice that my make up get’s a bit heavier especially since I don’t have to worry about the sun and heat melting it off my face.

add in moisturizer! Up here in the Northeast, the wind and cold can really dry out your skin, so I make sure to add in a non-pore clogging moisturizer to my skincare routine. I also lighten-up on the bronzer.

The only real change I make in cooler weather is to switch from a gel- to a cream-formula moisturizer. I have oily skin, but the cooler air causes it to flake.

I change my routine dramatically in the fall, first off my daily sunscreen is not as strong as when I’m out in the summer and I definetly exfoliate more in the evening followed by a heavier mosturizer.

To keep a slight tan appearance on my face I like to use a tinted moisturizer during the day.

Staying moisturized to prepare for colder months ahead.
    And not forgetting Sunscreen!!

Your line is amazing and I would love to win this! In the fall, I generally use a richer moisturizer for a little extra protection from drying environments and a gentler facial cleanser. My makeup colors cool down a bit too – more plums and less peaches. And the one thing that is an absolute must: super rich lip balm. My lips just die in the winter and become incredibly painful without da balm.
