Fake eyelashes are a pain. Inevitably, every time I apply them, one eye comes out perfect and the other … not so much. (When it comes to my eyes I do not enjoy an asymmetrical look.) A while back I looked into getting longer, fuller lashes with a prescription—but once I learned of all the potential side effects (Brown eyelids? Eek!) I shelved that idea. Lucky for me, the beauty world is full of options for eyelash enhancement that don’t involve a prescription. A little too full, actually! There’s so much out there from which to choose—how’s a girl to know what really works?
DermStore shoppers have never led me astray with their reviews, which are consistently honest and informative. I figured our reviews section would be a great place to begin my search, and right I was! What I found was that iQ Derma’s SmartLash is extremely well-reviewed by our savvy shoppers—plus, it’s reasonably priced! This non-prescription, prostaglandin-free (prostaglandin is the hormone that makes prescription formulas work, FYI) product scored a ton of 5-star ratings AND prompted many customers to share their personal success stories.
The 411 On Eyelash Enhancement
If you aren’t yet aware of this increasingly popular method of getting longer lashes, eyelash enhancers are formulas that are applied topically to the base of your lower and upper lashes (application is very similar to putting on liquid liner). They can even be used on sparse, thin eyebrows.
Are Lash Enhancers Safe?
While prescription eyelash enhancers are often formulated with prostaglandin—a hormone that can cause potentially irreversible side effects including, but not limited to darkened irises and blurred vision, many companies are introducing safer, non-prescription alternatives that work just as well. Most non-prescription formulas are formulated with polypeptides, amino acids and conditioning ingredients to help rejuvenate lashes and strengthen them against breakage—and most don’t use hormones or parabens. They still deliver longer, fuller, darker-looking lashes and shapelier brows. There’s just no risk for adverse side effects.
How Long Do They Take To Work?
Sometimes, lash enhancers work in as little as 7 days, and sometimes they’ll take 4-6 weeks. Another thing that made me want to try SmartLash was the product’s published clinical results, which show that 46% of people studied noticed longer, fuller lashes/brows in only a week. What’s more, a full 100% saw results in 14 days and experienced a 68% increase in lash length.

I have been using smart lash for quite sometime now and it doesn’t seem to be working
I recommend it to my wife and hope it can help her. There are several products that she tried but it doesn’t work for her. I hope this product will be the product that what we are looking for.
