How many of you are intimidated by dark lipstick colors? Dark lips are one of Fall’s biggest beauty trends, but personally, I’m more of a bright pink/red kind of gal—and I’m a little scared of the look, which I feel might be a little goth for my liking. (Not to offend anyone, it’s just not really my style.) But I decided to try rocking vampy lips anyway, because I love makeup will try anything (well, almost anything) for fun. Want to try it yourself? Here are some easy steps to achieve a great vampy look that won’t leave you feeling uncomfortable in your skin, but will allow you to have fun with this Fall trend.

1. Make sure to even out your skin tone with a great foundation. Napoleon Perdis China Doll Foundation gives great coverage that’s not too heavy.
2. Brighten your eyes with a soft brown eyeshadow. LORAC offers an amazing eyeshadow called Bronze that adds just the right amount of sparkle and color.
3. For foolproof lips, you’ll need a great liner, and 3 Custom Color Specialists has an amazing one called Cool Red that does a great job at keeping lipstick from bleeding. They also have a wonderful semi-matte lipstick in the same color that’s great for smaller lips. For bigger lips, CARGO has one of the best lip-glosses I’ve ever used: High Intensity Lip Gloss in Equador.
