How many of you are intimidated by dark lipstick colors? Dark lips are one of Fall’s biggest beauty trends, but personally, I’m more of a bright pink/red kind of gal—and I’m a little scared of the look, which I feel might be a little goth for my liking. (Not to offend anyone, it’s just not really my style.) But I decided to try rocking vampy lips anyway, because I love makeup will try anything (well, almost anything) for fun. Want to try it yourself? Here are some easy steps to achieve a great vampy look that won’t leave you feeling uncomfortable in your skin, but will allow you to have fun with this Fall trend.
- Make sure to even out your skin tone with a great foundation. Napoleon Perdis China Doll Foundation gives great coverage that’s not too heavy.
- Brighten your eyes with a soft brown eyeshadow. LORAC offers an amazing eyeshadow called Bronze that adds just the right amount of sparkle and color.
- For foolproof lips, you’ll need a great liner, and 3 Custom Color Specialists has an amazing one called Cool Red that does a great job at keeping lipstick from bleeding. They also have a wonderful semi-matte lipstick in the same color that’s great for smaller lips. For bigger lips, CARGO has one of the best lip-glosses I’ve ever used: High Intensity Lip Gloss in Equador.
And there you go! A great vampy look that’s wearable and not overpowering. If you decide to give it a try, post pics of your look and post them on our blush facebook page with #vampylook.
