Summer Makeup Trends

It’s not too late to catch up on this year’s summer beauty trends! Summer ’09 is all about bright, bold and beautiful colors that demand attention and adoration. So, put away your taupe eyeshadow and peach gloss, and use these summer makeup trends as an excuse to try something new!

Hot Pink Lips
Pucker up, buttercup! Hot pink lipstick or gloss is the perfect way to enhance your pout while adding a dash of flirty fun to your look. It goes perfectly with jeans and a white tee or your favorite little black dress, making it the ultimate all-in-one shade for day to night use. Choosing the perfect pink for your complexion is much like finding the perfect shade of red. My trick: print out Wikipedia’s Shades of Pink sample page and hold the shades next to your face. This will help you get an idea of what types of pink go best with your skin tone.

Rainbow Eyes
This look is certainly not for the timid. Creating the perfect rainbow eye takes time and effort. However, the payoff is simply gorgeous. If you’re not quite brave enough to attempt a complete rainbow eyeshadow application, just choose one vibrant, shimmery shade (like turquoise, a hot summer shadow shade) and apply as you would any other eyeshadow. Top off with a rich eyeliner and a healthy dose of mascara to finish your rainbow-inspired look.

Neon Nails
Even if hot pink lips and rainbow eyeshadow seem a bit much for you, you can still incorporate summer cosmetic trends into your beauty care routine by adorning your nails with a neon polish. Perfect for the fingers or toes (or both!), neon nail polish is the perfect way to accessorize y

our favorite bikini.
