Trend Alert: Yoga Inspired, Handmade Jewelry by Jena Mae.

I’m in love with Jena Mae’s newest collection; the colors are perfect for the season and they make great Christmas gifts! As for Jena Mae herself, she’s just as lovely as her jewelry. I know, because I sat down with her to find out a little more on what inspires her! Check out the interview below.

JESSIKA: WHERE DO YOU LOOK TO FIND INSPIRATION FOR YOUR COLLECTIONS?
JENA MAE: My inspiration comes from nature. I love the natural things in life and being outside breathing fresh air really rejuvenates me and brings good energy to me. Going out on hikes allows my mind to be free and calm. Many of my ideas also come when I practice yoga.

J: HOW DID YOU PROPEL YOUR LINE TO WHAT IT IS TODAY?
JM: I just launched my website a month ago and this is still very new to me. I’ve always wanted to have a business of my own and inspire others to follow their passion and do what they love and be happy doing it. My family and friends have helped me propel my business to what it is today, I couldn’t have done it without all their support and help.

J: WHAT’S YOUR FAVE BEAUTY BRAND? BEAUTY PRODUCT?
JM: I’m very simple when it comes to makeup; I always go for a very natural look. I do however, like to take good care of my skin by using a great cleanser, moisturizer, by drinking lots of water and eating lots of greens.

J: WHAT ARE YOUR MUST-HAVES YOU WOULDN’T BE CAUGHT ON A DESERT ISLAND WITHOUT?
JM:
Beeswax Moisturizing Day Creme by Burt’s Bees
Beeswax Moisturizing Night Creme by Burt’s Bees
Lip Balm by Burt’s Bees
Face Wash by Urth
Hydrating Shampoo by Free Your Mane
Daily Conditioner by Free Your Mane
Restorative Hair Oil by Free Your Mane

J: HOW DOES YOUR PERSONAL STYLE MATCH YOUR MAKEUP PERSONALITY?
JM: My personal style is very free spirited, comfy, and simple. I like to call it yogi or hippie chic. My main focus with my style is to be comfortable but looking put together at the same time. My makeup is also very simple and natural. I grew up on a farm in a small town in Minnesota so I never really wore a lot of makeup until I moved to Los Angeles two years ago. When I do wear makeup, I always wear mascara and natural tones for my eye shadow. Sometimes when I’m feeling adventurous, I do spice it up with a smoky eye.

J: WHAT’S A TYPICAL DAY FOR YOU, MAKEUP-WISE?
JM: A typical day would be to wake up, cleanse and moisturize my face. If I’m going to yoga in the morning or going for a hike I keep my face fresh without any makeup on. If I’m running errands; I usually apply some concealer under my eyes and foundation, I also apply mascara and finish up the look with a nude lip. I always carry my Burt’s Bees’ Lip Balm with me. When I go into work; I always apply light powder, bronzer and mascara. I finish up my work day look with a natural color eye shadow and a colored lip.

J: WHAT MAKES YOU BLUSH?
JM: I really love it when people tell me I inspire them, it makes my heart blush.

J: WHAT IS THE BEST BEAUTY ADVICE YOU EVER RECEIVED?
JM: It was from my dermatologist; the best investment you can do for yourself it’s to start taking care of your skin and body while you are young. Never skip on your health! Also, cucumbers are your best friend.

J: FASHION AND BEAUTY ARE SO CLOSELY RELATED. FOR YOU PERSONALLY AND FOR YOUR BRAND, HOW AND WHY DO THE TWO GO HAND-IN-HAND?
JM: I feel that true beauty comes from within. One must feel confident with themselves on the inside to be able to really shine on the outside. Feeling healthy, energized and happy will truly create an ambiance within one’s personal style. Namaste by Jena Mae jewelry is all about creating a spiritual and natural sense of style within each enlightening bead or necklace.

Wow! Those are the jewelries that are being sold? They look like wooden beaded bracelets with a charm. I would love to have one. I have a wooden beaded bracelet but not like that. Those are really beautiful.
